Health and social care staff across the Black Country can benefit from free mental wellbeing workshops thanks to the NHS teaming up with the Wolves Foundation.

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is working with Wolves Foundation, the official charity of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, to offer a Head 4 Health taster workshop.

The Head 4 Health workshop covers stress awareness, coping strategies and light physical exercise to aid physical and mental wellbeing.

The sessions, taking place at the Molineux Stadium, offers an introduction to the Head 4 Health programme which is delivered by the Wolves Foundation to improve health and wellbeing in the city.

Sam Skelding, Health and Wellbeing Outreach Engagement Lead at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “It is vital that we look after the health and wellbeing of our health and social care staff in the Black Country as they dedicate themselves to looking after us all.

“It is great to team up with the Wolves Foundation who do brilliant work in the city and are rooted in the community. We hope by taking part in the taster session, our health and care staff in the Black Country will take part in the wider Head 4 Health programme to boost their mental wellbeing.”

Rachel Smith from the Wolves Foundation, said: “The Head 4 Health session will aim to explore stressors that we come across in our lives in addition to what helpful coping strategies we can utilise to help reduce our stress levels.

“These strategies and tips can then be implemented into daily life which we hope will aid individuals in improving their mental wellbeing. The session will provide an introduction into what the Head 4 Health programme is, with the option of then attending the full 8 week programme in the future to better aid mental wellbeing.”

The sessions take place on Wednesday 7 June, 2pm to 4pm, and Wednesday 13 June, 6pm to 8pm.
