Christmas magic will be sprinkled across the Black Country this festive season thanks to the ‘Presents for Patients’ appeal from Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Black Country Brighter Lives, the charitable arm of Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, has launched the ‘Presents for Patients’ appeal to spread some festive cheer across the Trust’s wards this Christmas.

The campaign is asking generous Black County individuals and businesses to contribute whatever they are able, so that the Trust can provide gifts for patients in their care this Christmas.

It means that patients who will be spending Christmas away from loved ones in hospitals such as Bushey Fields Hospital in Dudley, Penn Hospital in Wolverhampton, Dorothy Pattison and Bloxwich Hospital in Walsall and Hallam Street Hospital in West Bromwich, will have a gift to open this Christmas.

Manisha Patel is the Charity Engagement Officer for Black Country Brighter Lives, and she is calling on individuals and businesses to get behind the ‘Presents for Patients’ campaign as it returns in the countdown to Christmas.

Manisha said: “We know times are tough but we really do appreciate anything that the community can provide to help us provide a gift to every patient in our care this Christmas.

“There are several ways people can get involved depending on whatever is easiest for them. We are accepting cash donations via our Just Giving page, or people can drop a Christmas gift at one of our Black Country sites.

“Organisations and businesses are also welcome to make a corporate donation so please do contact us to discuss how your organisation can make a difference.

“The ‘Presents for Patients’ campaign is more than about giving Christmas gifts, it is about showing a person you have never met that someone cares and that they are not alone this Christmas.

“However you decide to help us, we would like to say a big thank you for your generosity and support to make this a bostin’ Christmas for patients across the Black Country.”
