The government is proposing a wide range of changes to rebalance the Mental Health Act, to try and put patients at the centre of decisions about their own care and ensure everyone is treated equally.

If you are a patient, service user, carer or someone that has an interest in mental health, we would like to invite you to an online event to share your views and answer any questions you may have in relation to the proposed changes to the Mental Health Act.

For example: Should people have more say in their care and treatment? Should it be harder to detain someone under the Mental Health Act? Should people have more right to challenge their detention? What more can be done to ensure those from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds are equally involved and protected?
