As we observe Time to Talk Day 2024, Black Country Healthcare proudly aligns with national initiatives like Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, advocating for open and meaningful discussions about mental health.

Today is about more than just talking; it's a commitment to deeper understanding, empathy, and collective action to break the barriers of mental health stigma.

Conversation in Mental Wellbeing

Everyone has mental health, and by talking about it, we bolster our own wellbeing and that of others. Time to Talk Day ignites conversations that often remain unspoken, challenges the 'I'm fine' culture, and fosters an environment where expressing genuine feelings is not just accepted but encouraged.

Black Country Healthcare’s Role

Our talking therapies services formerly known as IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies), are crucial in nurturing these conversations. We offer a safe and structured environment for individuals to explore and process their feelings of anxiety, depression, and stress under professional guidance.

From guided self-help to cognitive behavioural therapy, our services are diverse and inclusive, designed for everyone from young adults to seniors, including new parents and those facing hardship.

Accessible Pathways to Mental Health Support

Joining our therapy program is a simple and inclusive process. You don't need a referral from your GP to access our services. We offer various ways to get support – whether in person, over the phone, or online – ensuring that everyone can find help in a way that suits them best.

NHS Talking Therapies, specifically designed for residents aged 16 and over in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, and Wolverhampton, are also readily accessible.

You can easily initiate the process of getting support yourself via self-referral, or, if you prefer, through a GP referral. Our trained therapists deliver care through various methods, ensuring that each individual's journey with anxiety is met with understanding and effective support.

Real Stories, Real Change

  • "Expressing my struggles openly was transformative. I felt understood and less isolated." – A Sandwell Talking Therapies patient experience.
  • "The self-help program empowered me to manage my anxiety effectively." – A testimony to the effectiveness of our services.

This Time to Talk Day, let's join hands to create a community where mental health is openly discussed and supported. Whether it's a chat over a cup of tea or a call to a friend, every conversation about mental health is crucial. Black Country Healthcare is also here to listen and support you at every step.

Let's make every conversation count towards a healthier, happier society, and let's transform mental health together.
