All patients, visitors, and staff in patient-facing areas at sites across Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are requested to wear face masks unless medically exempt.

This applies to all our sites across Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, and Wolverhampton. The temporary reintroduction is recommended by NHSIE and UKHSA and is in line with other local Trusts’ practices.

The move comes as respiratory infections such as Covid-19, influenza, and RSV continue to surge in the community. The Trust has decided to reintroduce universal facemask recommendations in all patient-facing areas to keep patients, visitors, staff, and their families safe.

Our workforce also follows effective control measures, including ventilation, hand hygiene, and regular cleaning of equipment and surfaces.

Visiting rules remain the same unless the area has a confirmed restriction or outbreak.

We encourage all visitors to wear masks to reduce the transmission of respiratory infections, which helps keep each other safe.
