Patients and carers across the Black Country who have received support from Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are being invited to nominate their healthcare hero for a special award as the NHS marks its 75th year of changing lives.

The Black Country Awards for Talent and Achievement recognise staff and teams that have gone the extra mile to provide outstanding care at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT).

The ‘Patient’s Choice’ category gives patients, their families and carers the opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to the staff they feel have made a real difference to the lives of others and deserve special recognition.

Nominations are now open until 5pm on Friday 18 August and the winner will be revealed at an award ceremony later this year.

Marsha Foster, chief executive of Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our staff awards are a fantastic way for us to celebrate the commitment and dedication of our fantastic colleagues, who go above and beyond on a daily basis to support healthier and happier communities in the Black Country.

“We have over 4,000 staff working in hospitals and the community and in clinical and non-clinical roles and we are passionate about celebrating their achievements and dedication.

“We are really excited to include the Patients Choice award and I know staff really appreciate nominations from patients and carers – so if you would like to recognise someone who has made a real difference to you, it would be great if you would nominate them.

“The NHS turned 75 this month and is a reminder of what a vital role it plays in our lives, so now is the perfect opportunity for patients and carers to recognise staff that have made a real difference with their care.”
