Members of the public are invited to find out more about Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust by joining our Annual General Meeting in September.
This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Tuesday 30 September, 10-11am at Brierley Hill Civic Hall.
The AGM will be hosted by interim trust chair Phil Gayle and chief executive Marsha Foster. It will showcase the Trust’s achievements over the past year, as the lead provider of mental health, learning disability and autism services across the Black Country, and community healthcare services in Dudley.
Phil and Marsha will be joined by the lead governor and fellow governors that make up the Trust’s council of governors, members of the Trust board and staff from across the Trust.
Looking back at the past year, the AGM will celebrate some of the important work the Trust is doing to take a community-first approach, working with our communities to provide early and proactive support, as well as improving hospital care by providing safe, therapeutic and culturally competent care for those who need it.
We will also look forward to the coming year to share how the Trust is responding to local, regional and national priorities, ensuring we continue to work with our communities to understand how best to support people across Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
Trust interim chair, Phil Gayle said:
“I am looking forward to meeting members of the local community at this year’s AGM.
“We are excited to share the Trust’s achievements over the past year, including the opening of a state-of-the-art older adults’ unit at Dorothy Pattison Hospital in Walsall and the refurbishment of Edward Street Hospital in Sandwell and Kinver ward at Bushey Fields Hospital in Dudley.
“Strengthening our emergency and urgent care services has been a key priority and we were proud to launch two new important initiatives: WorkWell, which will support thousands of people across the Black Country with health conditions and disabilities to find or retain employment to boost their wellbeing and the keyworker service for adults, helping people and their families navigate services and systems, ensuring they receive the right care at the right time.
“I am also looking forward to sharing what we will be focusing on in the upcoming future as we continue to do our best for the Black Country communities we support.
“We welcome questions from our communities and I would encourage you to submit these to us in advance so we can answer as many as possible on the day.”
Electronic copies of the Trust’s Annual Report and Accounts and Quality Account are available on the Trust website ahead of the event.
Questions can also be emailed in advance to bchft.membership@nhs.net. Responses will be available for all to view at the AGM. The deadline for submissions is Friday 19 September.
Those who are interested in attending can register their attendance online or email bchft.membership@nhs.net. Attendees can arrive from 9.30am, with the event starting at 10am until 11am.
