Hi, I'm Lucy and I am an Occupational Therapist for the Walsall Community Specialist Adult Learning Disabilities Team.
Our team consists of three occupational therapists who work in the community to support those with learning disabilities from the age of 18. We deliver our services in patient’s homes, day centres, respite, schools and colleges. Patients can be internally or externally referred to our service.
We address individuals’ occupational needs and set goals to support them with occupational therapy interventions and assessments, aiming to be person centred in everything we do. We have a core offer that looks at supporting with activities of daily living, engagement in activities, skill development, equipment provision, specialist seating, manual handling and transfers, falls management, environmental needs and sensory integration.
We liaise with our wider multidisciplinary team for support within their clinical discipline when appropriate. Our goal is to address individuals’ health needs, encourage independence and bring meaning to individuals’ lives!
