The Recovery College, part of Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, is inviting residents to a series of free open days this August. The events, hosted across, the college’s four sites in Walsall, Sandwell, Wolverhampton and Dudley, aim to introduce local communities to the college’s unique approach to mental health recovery through education.
The Recovery College provides a supportive learning environment for adults aged 18 and over who are experiencing mental health challenges or are interested in improving their wellbeing. All courses are free and open to anyone, with no formal qualifications or previous experience required.
Rather than focusing on problems or diagnoses, the college celebrates personal strengths and helps individuals build on their existing skills and strategies. Courses are co-produced and co-delivered by people with lived experience of mental health issues, carers and healthcare professionals. This collaborative approach promotes hope, empowerment and choice as part of the recovery journey.
